Terracon McKay Ltd. (Terracon McKay) is a geological, geotechnical and environmental drilling company, as well as a technical services company. The majority owner is Fort McKay First Nations with management provided by Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. The company was established in 1999 and is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, to offer its technical services to the oil sands industry and the region. Terracon McKay offers auger drilling, rotary drilling and Laskey Coring services which have applications in exploration, development, oil sands bench drilling, and environmental and geotechnical site investigations. Terracon McKay is equipped to install geotechnical instruments and conduct geotechnical and environmental sampling programs. Terracon McKay also offers fleet water truck services, road watering and on-site equipment washing services. Bobcat services, including shallow drilling and fence post installation, are also offered. Environmental services offered include Phase II and III Environmental Site Assessments, groundwater resource development, water quality assessments and groundwater contaminant modeling in conjunction with Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. Terracon McKay staff are safety conscious, well trained technicians and technologists. They hold appropriate safety and technical certificates for access to industrial and local sites. The company is pleased to report that our roster of experienced drillers demonstrates a profile of oil sands auger drilling experience of 45+ years. Terracon McKay possesses a rigorous Safety and Loss Management program. Our staff are committed to safe work practices including thorough FLRA protocols, and have earned a Certificate of Recognition (COR) in Partnerships in Health and Safety.
